What do you suggest I should do about my friend Mike?

Last week, he was caught in the act of showing intimate feelings towards the opposite . I know... quite a terrible violation, indeed. The elders who shall judge him, are less than forgiving; and that's on a good day..lol. I was just recently told he was off of his prescribed medication. The medication we are all prescribed to take, to suppress our unwanted desires. I hope for his sake, that they shall not release him just yet. But, he secretly told me that these forbidden feelings he has felt, brought him the most joy he's ever experienced in his life, and he would rather be released than have to suppress those feelings any further. What I'm trying to ask is; should I sacrifice my left pinky finger to appease the elders and sway their judgment in his favor? Or should I let this poor soul suffer the consequence of being released?
