Can ANYONE else FEEL someone they loves emotions, thoughts etc?

This is probobly going to sound nuts and Ive never told anyone about this in my entire life because quite frankly, I feel nuts sometimes knowing Im able to do this. But here goes. There is a certain someone in my life whom I love more then my own ability to breath. lol.. When we met, there was a deep connection in more ways then either one of us were able to deal with and there still are many. Weve been friends, more then friends, ignored eachother then been back to friends plus over the course of many years. One thing that we have always been able to do was sorta, read eachothers minds in a sense. have a convo without sayin a word.. we just knew.. then smile because Im always right of course. ;) jk.. But the weird thing is that no matter weather we were speaking, close, not so close or whatever, the being able to read eachother and even hmmm, um, send mental messages to eachother has never faded. Ive had dreams where he and I were in a car and I was driving, and he suddenly said stop the car.. when I asked why, he said, just stop and I did.. then a minute later there would be an explosion ahead of us on the road. So he kept us from being a part of the explosion. Then in real life, (not the dream) something would happen and because of the dream I had, I sorta knew to "stop" before something bad happened. I know this all sounds bizzare, but Id really like to know why and how we are able to do this? Is it because Im an epileptic? Ive heard that we are more susceptible to energy like that. Could that be why Im having the dreams? And how is it that we can "feel" what the other is feeling, or know what the other is thinking, even when we arent in the same room or sometimes havent spoken in a week or more? Ill admit, he isnt the only one that this has happened with, but he is the most prominent one because of all the other connections as well! He studies "lucid dreaming" is it possible he is able to control my dreams too? I mean, I really dont know. Again, I realize this all sounds like loony city and I'm really putting myself out there on a chopping block here, but I would love the insight as this has been going on for MANY years!
