What glands are involved in the release of estrogen, and what would inhibit the release of estrogen?

Well estrogen comes from a females ovaries (or small quantities from a males testes). What stimulates the release of estrogen is the beginning of a females estrus cycle. A way to treat this is to possibly remove the ovaries or an increase of such hormones as progesterone which will cause the estrogen to subside, but would lead the female into a pseudo-pregnancy state.
