How would you explain my infant son's choice of music...?

I am trying to find a common thread in my ten month old infant's somewhat intriguing choice of music videos. He watches ONLY the following videos intently- Rihanna ('Umbrella'), Nelly Furtado ('Give it to me'), Avril Lavigne ('Girlfriend'), Beyonce ('Beautiful Liar'), Gwen Stefani ('Sweet Escape'), Akon ('Don't matter'), Ne-Yo ('Because of you'), Mika ('Love Today'), Mutya Buena ('Real Girl'), Gym Cl Heroes ('Cupid's chokehold). He TOTALLY IGNORES all the rest including the older chart toppers.
