Why wouldn't Jesus drink the mingled drinks, but drank the non mingled drink offered him on the cross?

He refused to drug Himself with the gall that was possibly a mild sedative or a narcotic which dulled sensation. (see link below) He didn't take drugs to get out of reality that was painful. He came for the purpose of showing us the Father and of providing full atonement for our sins. He took the high road, the chai (life) road.
