I am reading High-School Confidential: Noted on Teen Movies and i am not sure what "plathian rue" means?

ok so i 'm not afraid to say when i don't know something...so plathian i'm lost on. But rue is a french word meaning street. Given the situation i would say that it mean she's on a dead end street, meaning since she's stuck in the jar...she's not going anywhere.
