Help with my usb external 2TB hdd pls!?

OK so I got a 2TB usb hdd. Since it is 2 Terra bytes it needs a power adapter to connect to the wall to get extra power. (I hate having to bend under my desk to plug it in and out) I have a 2TB WD external hard drive and it is the one that is a plain black rectangle(I don't know the model). Thank you for your help!
